Prof. Win Myint has been practicing and teaching surgery for more than 40 years. He is a Professor and Head of Department of Surgery in University of Medicine, Mandalay and University of Medicine, Yangon, Myanmar.
Prof. Win Myint gained his training in university teaching hospital (DGSH, NOGH) and liver surgery training in Liverpool Hospital (UK) and Queen Mary Hospital (Hong Kong). He is one of the pioneers in Laparoscopic Surgery and performed Laparoscopic procedures (Lap.chole, Appendicectomy) since year 2000. He was also the Founding member of Endoscopic Surgical Society (ESS) of Myanmar in 2009. Prof. Win was elected as President of ESS and Governor of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA) since 2010 until now.
He has trained generations of surgeons and conducted Laparoscopic Surgery workshops across the countries. Prof. Win actively involved in scientific symposium, seminars as a speaker and chaired nationally and internationally.
Last and not least Prof Win Myint is now the Chairperson of the Clinical Governance Committee in Pun Hlaing Siloam Hospital.
Professional Experience Prof. Win has vast experience in Thyroid, Breast, Hernias upper and lower gastro intestinal diseases including the safest and state of the art surgery for piles as well as vast experience in elective endoscopy services.
