Dr Than Win is a graduate of Institute of Medicine (1), Yangon. He served as a honorary senior house officer at chest medical unit in Yangon General Hospital before going abroad in 1986. He completed his training in internal medicine in Chicago. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He was a chief of medicine for urgent care at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. He was an assistant professor of medicine at Rush Medical College, Chicago. He became a Fellow of American College of Physicians in 2005 . He was a president of Burmese Medical Association of Northern America and continues to serve as executive committee member.
He spends 6 months in Pun Hlaing Siloam Hospital and works as a hospitalist in United States the remainder of the year.
His special interest are hospital medicine, perioperative medicine and diabetes.
