Prof. Aung Kyaw Zaw graduated from the Institute of Medicine (I), Yangon in 1970 earning his M.B.,B.S. (Ygn), M.Med.Sc. (Internal Medicine) (Credit) in 1985 from the Institute of Medicine (II), Yangon, Dr. Med.Sc. (Cardiology) in 2001 from the Institute of Medicine (I), Yangon.
Prof. Aung Kyaw Zaw has completed numerous training in the London, Scotland, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, and the USA. In addition, he has published and presented over 50 academic papers on cardiology. Prof. Aung Kyaw Zaw continues to attend conferences internationally where he routinely presents his papers on cardiology.
In 1996, Prof. Aung Kyaw Zaw began lecturing in Internal Medicine at the Defence Services Medical Academy in Mingaldon, Yangon. Continuing his lecuturing, Prof. Aung Kyaw Zaw was a professor and head of the cardiology department in the Defense Services Medical Academy in 2000 earning him the title of Lieutenant Colonel.
F.A.C.T.M. Fellow of Australiasian College of Tropical Medicine since 1992, Fellow of Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (London), in 1989, Member of Japan Cardiac Society since 1995, F.S.C.A.I. (USA) since 1996, F.A.C.C. (USA) since 2003.
