"Prof Khin Htwe graduated in Medicine from the University of Medicine (1), Yangon in 1972 and thereafter she proceeded her postgraduate training in pediatrics in the University of Medicine (1), Yangon Children Hospital and the UK. Prof. Khin Htwe holds the certificate of higher studies in pediatrics including Fellowship of Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh and Doctorate of Medical Sciences in Pediatrics, University of Medicine (2), Yangon.
She sees children with all general pediatric problems. She has done research in Evaluation of Dengue Blot Test in Myanmar and Preliminary Study of Childhood Nephrosis in Yangon Children Hospital and has published many articles in journals in Myanmar. She also did international publications on diarrhea and dengue infection. She made many conference presentations of the studies related to dengue and other infectious diseases including bacterial meningitis, diarrhea and pneumococcal infection.
Prof Khin Htwe was a Vice-president of the Pediatric Society of Myanmar Medical Association from 2004 to 2009. She was also a member of the Academic Committee of the Pediatric Section, Myanmar Medical Association and Editorial Board of the Myanmar Medical Journal from 1998 to 2004. She actively participated in Material Development of Integrated Management of Maternal and Childhood Illnesses (IMMCI) Programme and Women and Child Health Development (WCHD).
Moreover, Prof. KhinHtwe conducted refresher courses for Junior Pediatricians and General Practitioners. In addition, she attended various conferences both locally and internationally and participated as a speaker, facilitator and chairperson in local conferences and trainings in Myanmar.”
